Spotlite FAQ

How should I set additional fees for global usage?

When content originally shot for domestic use is expanded to overseas countries or global markets, the usage scope and exposure increase significantly. If additional countries, extended usage periods, or new media platforms are added beyond the initial agreement, an additional fee may be required.

When photos or videos are used beyond domestic channels and extended to overseas or global markets, the scope of usage widens and the exposure increases.Because this expands the value and usage rights of the content, the model or creator may request an additional fee for usage that was not included in the original contract.

In short, moving from “domestic only” to “domestic + overseas/global” increases the value and risk of usage — which is why the fee may change.

There is no industry-wide standard rate or fixed amount for global usage fees.Model sets their own pricing based on their experience, skill level, project difficulty, and the expected value of the usage.

The examples below are purely for reference, and the final pricing is entirely up to the model or creator.

There are several common approaches. Here are the most frequently used methods:

Method

Description

Multiplier method

Apply a multiplier to the domestic usage fee (e.g., domestic fee × 1.5 for global usage).

Country-based additional fee

Add a specific fee per country (e.g., USA + ₩500,000).

Continent-based additional fee

Add a fee per region (e.g., Asia / Europe / North America).

Assuming the domestic usage fee is ₩500,000:

  • Multiplier method: Global usage ×1.5 → ₩750,000

  • Country-based: USA usage +₩500,000 → ₩1,000,000

  • Continent-based: North America +₩500,000 → ₩1,000,000

Including these criteria in the proposal or contract before the shoot makes future negotiations much smoother.

All amounts shown above are examples only. The actual pricing — including the multiplier, country fees, or region fees — should be determined solely by the model.

Global usage fees are flexible and should be set according to your own standards, project value, and the specific countries, duration, and media involved.
