“Option” is a stage before the booking is fully confirmed — it’s when the model’s schedule is temporarily held.
It’s a mutual agreement between the client and the model to say:
"There’s a possibility we might shoot on this date, please put other plans on hold for now."
From the client’s perspective:
An option allows you to tentatively secure the model’s availability while you’re still considering the final booking.
However, since this limits the model’s scheduling flexibility, it's best to place an option only when there’s a high likelihood of proceeding.
From the model’s perspective:
While the shoot isn’t confirmed, if another client inquires about the same date, the model should first check with the client who placed the option to confirm or release the date before responding to the new request.
